Let’s take a serious look at Free Online Tax Preparation and whether it is the right option for you. First of all, how complicated are your taxes? If your’s is fairly simple and you have kept good records and you have that available, then you are headed in the right direction. Second, be cautious about which “free” website you decide to use. Some claim to be free, and they are to a certain point, but then they may all of a sudden charge a fee when it comes to clicking on “file”. Then you may have to back to the beginning. If this is your first time for online filing, check with some friends, family or co-workers to see who they use. Do not wait until April 14, start in plenty of time.
